just throwing some thoughts here... wouldn't it be better without the precise (sharp) image of the reflection of the part of the tree in the photo? The flora seems out of place, I think.

i'm back to support u once again! cheers! merry new yr with lots of gd pix once again ;)

i think the reflection of the tree helps to give the composition more balance, as well as giving the photo more context (pic was taken at a park connector). :)

Eeee... you got dust on your sensor!! :bsmilie:
I disagree with Cheat on "walking toff"... I think the reflect tells me the location, it also balances out the composition... love it. (foot fetish again??) :bsmilie:

The tree reflection is sharper than the rest of the picture, making the reflection the key to the picture or the main subject. The person walking the dog however has been demoted as secondary or strays in the picture.

While I agree that the picture needs something to fill the void (and most people are afraid of void in their pictures anyway), the execution in this case has totally skew the perceived intention of the photographer. That is unless your main intention is to capture the reflection of the tree, and not to capture the person walking the dog.

p.s. don't care where you take the picture :sticktong

have to disagree here. the intention of the photograph is to capture an instantaneous moment on the park connector which includes the tree reflection, as well as reflections of the person, the dog and the decisive moment b4 the next step is made. the tree reflection and the person+dog need not be mutually exclusive in the same photo. some ppl may be afraid of "void" in their pics, but many others embrace and make good use of "void", or even "negative space". the key is knowing when to use it, and whether that it what the photographer intended to capture in the first place.

p.s. some other ppl may find that informative, as it gives the photo its context.

:)

I like how he looks like he is thinking and walking. I'd have given him more space near the bototm of the frame to look into though. The empty space while a little too much fr me seems to help keep the attention on the dog due to the contrast.
