This lens is not displayed on Pentax official worldwide web. The closest is the 35mm f2.8 Macro limited, which costs 700USD. I have no intention to lump all primes together as 1 pricing, what I am driving at is from the Pentax's web there's hardly any prime lenses priced below $500, and that's in USD, except for the FA 50mm 1.4.

I think in the US, it maybe out of stock ...

Similar to FA 50 in built ... it doesn't feel cheaply built (my opinion though).

Btw is the 35mm f2 a metal body construction also? Does "AL" labelling mean Aluminium?

AL means lens with Aspherical lens elements...

I see...thanks! It seems like this lens is hard to find nowadays, which from what I read is a full frame surviving lens.
