LIVERPOOL has been widely expected to sign Sigurdsson after his current club allowed the midfielder extra time off so he can finalise a move to the Premier League, but the German side have insisted he must report back to pre-season training at the end of this month if a deal is not concluded.
"Gylfi wants to stay in England and is in negotiations there, Hoffenheim boss Markus Babbel said.
Thus it makes no sense for both sides for him to return to Hoffenheim, perhaps only for a few days.
