I think the players that are expected to leave are Johnson and Toure. Gerrard will be leaving as well. There is also Borini, Lambert, Enrique and Ballotelli if there are buyers. Some in the first team but who have not made appearances and some others out on loan might leave as well. Not sure what is going on with Sterling, no loss if he goes as we have Ibe and some exciting prospects with the likes of Ojo and Origi.

I think we need one world class striker, I have not seen us without one for some time now. Another defender, likely to be a right back is sorely needed. There may some players out on loan who will return and can fit the bill. Suppose there are, we will still need someone or some players to stand up and lead the team as that was sorely lacking today.
