Liverpool reject Barcelona’s £55.7million Luis Suarez offer, demand at least £75million

Liverpool have rejected Barcelona’s opening offer of £55.7million for Luis Suarez – and told the Catalan club they want at least £75million for their star striker.

Barca have been locked in negotiations with Reds officials in London for the past few days over a deal for Suarez, and they submitted an opening offer on Wednesday.

It was worth £55.7million, which is €70million, but Liverpool have now rejected it and told Barca they must do better with their next bid.

Alexis Sanchez has declined to be involved in the deal, and now Spanish radio says Liverpool have made it clear they want at least £75million or will keep hold of the striker.

Suarez was told this week by Fifa he will be free to have a medical with the La Liga giants if a fee can be agreed, and he is keen to travel to Barcelona shortly so he can be ready to complete the switch quickly.
