Yogyakarta, Borobudur temple

Dear focus627,

You said, "Dangerous now. Yog is very close to Merapi. Hope it will not hurt borobudur and prambanam and nice ppl in central java..."

MC: I share the same thoughts. However, they are the same people who have been burning churches very recently..

I hope the Church-Burners DIED !!! And I wish safety to all the rest....

Peace

I don't think this is appropriate here.

:Later,

Dear Pinoy, You're right. It is never appropriate for people to burn churches, under ANY circumstances.
My point is that Central Java is NOT safe to be in for the moment.

I was there 2 years ago, when I shot this one

Wake up really really early, and if you are lucky, the clouds would not obscure the sun. Or that fog might be so damn heavy that it looks like London the entire day.
Whatever you choose, be safe. A dead Photographer is a useless photographer.

Cheers

when you plan to go Jogja?
If not wrong currently the flights still canceled...

For Jogja town, I feel 3 D 2N is more then enough. For borobusur, stay there 1N is good, easier for next day visit.

There are peoples saying, after you visit Angkor, Borobudur will not provoke your interest... I never been to Angkor, so I'm not sure. :)

I tend to agree.

I've been to Angkor Wat before visiting Yogya. Thus I felt Prambanan was quite underwhelming, though Borobudur offered a different sight.

If you're into batik and other indonesian crafts, then Yogyakarta is definitely the place to go.

to wish for others to die is very wrong...even if they've done something serious...we dont condemn those people...we condemn their behaviour...lets hope everyone live in peace...

One of the many places i'd like to visit for photography reasons....

Dear RoDz

It is alright to wish that someone dies. The Death Penalty is still alive and healthy in Singapore.
Plus, I don't see you standing in line Demonstrating at Hong Lim Park against it....

Why the dual-standards?

Also, "wishing that someone dies" versus actually going out to kill them are 2 entirely separate issues.
BTW, I support the Death Penalty. It weeds out the riff-raff.
