I really don't understand why it is common to see the medalist like to pose by biting thier medals?

Any reason for it?

Personally I find such pose / action looks terrible.

Maybe they are hungry and need hard tac biscuit to bite on...

It's old tradition for pple to bite the metals to check whether they're genuine or not.. esp the gold and the slivers....

maybe it's their way of saying "it's real.. yep.."....

Nope, they just miss their childhood chocolate-filled faux gold coins... :bsmilie:

yep. thats the impression i have too and its tradition:bsmilie:

If i remember correctly, these metals are supposed to be "soft". so to check whether they're real, just see if teeth marks are visible. probably.

hahaha... i wanted to say the same too :bsmilie:

Obviously it is just plain tradition - much like when you watch the older western movies of gold miners.

Just hope that they don't go overboard with the biting and get metal poisoning for nothing. :bsmilie: Otherwise it's all seniors' fault for propagating such traditions..
