YOG 2010 Preview Fireworks

penisula?

Yup, this was shot from Peninsula Excelsior Hotel. You'll need to be a guest at Peninsula Excelsior Hotel to be able to go up to their lounge to get this view. And entry is restricted to the guest staying at their premium rooms.

Nice fireworks shoot! I will be going there tomorrow to take those shots at about the same place. Timing is very important.

thanks. ya, gotta be prepared as the fireworks come out at sporadic timing.

DigDub, where do you think is great to shoot tomorrow.

I'm contemplating on Marina Promenade, but I scared may clash with the torch.

iso 200, bulb mode, f13-f14, 3850k white balance. most important is don't panic when the bursts come and always be ready. :)

Bro, may I ask when u press and when u release the shutter in Bulb mode? You brilliantly captured the fireworks at its glory.... the streaks are very clear and at it's full burst.

I shot the NDP fireworks - it was trial & error. Some I pressed when I heard the "boom", some when I saw the first light, and released immediately after the full burst fades. Results were... hmmm not outstanding.

Hope to learn from u. Thanks.

usually press when i see or hear the fireworks fire off from the barge, until the bloom is over, then close the shutter. :)

Excellent shots! Very beautifully taken :)

I tried to capture the spotlights with low iso and shutter speeds longer than 4s, but still couldn't capture that concentrated spotlight. Got special technique?
