Hi coolthought , yup do agree with you and it is also very subjective,the photo via HDR may achieve what you envision but might not turns out to be other likings .
Personally , I still prefer non HDR as it looks more natural and i do not have the capability to make it look natural + with good dynamic range yet.
HDR ya ..is just something new for me to play with ;p

Just like to add a little, from my thoughts regardless whether you agree or not.
HDR is not the end of the process but rather a process to achieve the end (that you envision or want).
The really good ones and I think will never get tired of, are the HDR photos that look natural with a good dynamic range.
