Hi,

I broke my Yashica GSN 35 Electro's rangefinder glass. I think some small item dropped onto the glass causing it to break.

Im referring to the glass on the top right hand side(from the front) of the camera.

To make things worst, i tried prying open the frame of another gsn to replace the glass, and somehow, slight pressure caused the glass to break too.

So now..i have two gsns with broken rf glass.

Does the camera repair shops here have replacements for it? Or am i doomed?

I really like the camera.

Thanks.

If it's the front glass, just an ordinary piece of glass,
should be easily replaceable.

You could have just exchange the tops of the cameras instead of prying the glass loose?
Try taking it to Cam-X (#01-20 Peninsula Hotel Shopping Centre, tel: 6339 1232) and check with Nick Foo if he has spare to fix it.

Good luck.

Try sungei rd, was there last weekend and saw at least 4 GSN Electro that has glass in place. Those camera are still in working condition albeit a little dirty and needs some CLA if want to use but if you just want the glass, you can remove the top and change the glass over. Shouldn't cost much for the camera maybe around S$10 to S$15 if you know how to bargain.
