well if you battery adapter is working correctly and the contacts in the battery box are clean the next step is to decide if you want to go on looking for the issue. If so I will continue to help. The next step involves removing the top cover to check the power wire. This is not really difficult if you want to give it a try.

i think im going to bring it for a check i dont dare to remove it myself haha

No Problem. If you don't feel up to opening the camera finding some to check for you is a good idea. Best of luck with you Electro35.

Well... buyer beware comes to mind.

I know one seller who puts up items regularly on classifieds stating that they are MINT - condition 10.... but a physical check shows fungus or some serious fault. Actually, quite a few sellers. Don't buy at all costs, well maybe if they sell for 50 dollars. The price of repair will be more expensive than if you get one in working condition.

Just treat it as a lesson.

i also know one buyer who lowball the seller and willing to pay only 30% of the asking price, saying in whatever the condition of the camera, he will take it without inspecting the camera as he was going to used the camera as parts only,. Then after dealing ,he went home, go busted his story on the forum and KPKP saying what **** camera he have brought.

At that point, alot of people read his suay incident and people from the forum who reads the topic, spread his story......

Remember your not buying a new or modern camera. Unless the person selling it states there is a warranty I assume there is not. It's hard sometimes when your not inspecting the camera in person. You need to know the person who is selling at least by rep and feedback. It also helps to know the possible issues with the item your looking at.

usually with film camera, best to ask for few days warranty, cos you can't test on the spot.

Hi, hope i am not too late to post this,

you should download the manual to test the Electro 35 GSN, you can download here free:

As to buying from ebay, it is a hit and miss sometimes. My Soligor Spot meter didn't work. That's a lesson I have to learn. The Summaron "Mint" has Haze and my latest AS-IS purchase is now is in P&G for some repairs.... Perhaps the other way of looking at this is: If I assume that the risk of damage is high with little or no recourse (eg. overseas ebay or it is a AS-IS deal), then how much should I bid for it ? I think this should be the question. Only soligor was bought expensive at USD 60. The rest including my Leica lens and cameras are modestly priced relative to their full price.

cheers!
