I recently found this camera lying around at home, and it turns out that it was my dad's old camera. It looks to be in modest condition, and I'm thinking of getting it checked soon before I start using it.

Does anybody here know how much this camera is worth?
I've heard it's a rare camera, but I don't know if I should trust what I've heard. :dunno:

Thanks in advance!

Not that common(meaning uncommon but not to the rare category) but still available if you look hard enough in the used equipment market. You may find its pretty light and plasticky if you are used to the "common" G series Electro 35. The mechanisms seem simpler and it has a 40mm F2.8 lens. Out of the 4 in this series; the MC, FC, CC and CCN, it appears that this is lightest one because of the sparingly used metal parts.

In general, a fine camera for usage but do be extra careful in protecting the lens. Seems that the 40mm lenses are not that hardy as compared to its elder brother the 38mm F1.7 or the G series 45mm F1.7 lens, and hence susceptible to scratches and cleaning marks.

Have not played with the black one but just the "chrome" color piece. Color wise, it seems that its more bright "zinc" than chrome.

Price range is about $120 - $150 depending on the condition. More if CLA'd. But as usual, please be aware of the Pad of Death, which is also a critical part of this camera.

Hope the above info helps.

BTW, if you must ask, CCN is indeed the most uncommon one.
