Wow, nice shots. I like #6 the most. So much detail and so sharp too.
Thanks Luenny. I was unable to see that until I see through the viewfinder. The nature is very interesting.

The " mozzie" is actually a long legged fly.
Try to align your camera parallel to the subject to maximise the limited DOF that you have. That will allow the full length of the subject to be in focus.
Thanks CY for the info & tips. Will try to adjust myself more next time for the position.
Just curious, if we only take sideway, will all photos turn out just like #10?
Yes, it would. Other angle can work if there is really something unique that the angle shows. If not, the OOF parts may not be nice compared to a side on with the entire body sharp.
Comes back to composition:
1) What is it you want to show?
2) Draw attention to it.
3) Simplify the shot.(remove other distractions)
Thanks scaredcloud!Nice shot!

#20 is a: Stilt-legged fly, and very nicely taken. Good DOF, good lighting control.
Yann, don't mind, can you post your new photos on new theads? Easier to view? else this thread will go on very long.....just a personal view ;p
sprintist, yes, at times have to move the vegetation if needed, or sometimes the change of angle will do wonders....but sometimes....really bo bian....can't do much.
You are improving. It take a lot patience.Keep it up.
