XLR to 3.5mm Line Matching adapter

Hi guys,

I got an XLR to 3.5mm adapter from Hung brothers (doesn't seem to have a brand- some cheapo packaging) and got charged $60 for it, I asked for one with a transformer but he said it doesn't contain a transformer, so I assume its just a normal adapter. Looking at the net where prices start from $5-6 per piece, I have this niggling feeling I got ripped off by them...

I tried Amazon and Ebay, but the shipping costs more than the product itself.

Any of the experienced forumers. ie Bamboo?, here have good recommendations where I can get inexpensive line matching XLR to minijack adapters? Thanks in advance!

There is an audio accessories shop in Sim Lim, UF Technology (3rd floor) selling all sorts of XLR connectors. Perhaps you might be able to pick one up for less than $10.

Their XLR connectors are here:

I don't see any XLR-3.5mm connectors but perhaps it is not listed on their webpage or you might be able to add a 6.3mm-3.5mm adaptor? Not an elegant solution but beats paying for an overpriced item.

BHphotovideo sells XLR to 3.5mm attentuator cable for USD49. So if you asked for an attenuator cable, it's not a bad price.
