wat will freaks me is when a lot of men shooting men in swimming trunks with heavy makeup on their faces.. if that happens, it will be an serious issue.
so if u have a tendency to shoot the opposite sex, i have good news for you > you are healthy and balance ... and you can have babies and be a father next time, the nation will thank you because our national birth rate is critically low ! we need more production of Singaporeans !

I think she's entitled to her opinion, and I happen to agree with her view of people who pay to shoot XMMs. What's wrong with your friends and relatives? Grandma at home would make an excellent subject for learning about lighting and photography.
Then again what is wrong with them wanting to pay to shoot more attractive looking subjects? What's wrong with a service rendered by two sides who are agreeable to the terms/cost? :dunno:
I guess she's just dissed that her blogger competitors or girls she bitch about (in her blog) are in demand in CS.. and so she is using this forum to forward her agenda.. nothing more to it.. I mean its not that difficult to decipher someone so plastic :bigeyes:.

yes, grandma at home or friends and relatives would make for lovely portraiture. unfortunately, xiaxue also disses that form of photography as "arty farty nonsense" (along with macro, abstract photography etc etc).

There's nothing wrong with shooting friends and relatives... but what's wrong with shooting XMMs?
It's just personal preference... a very normal male's preference. :embrass:

Come on... are your friends and family so repulsive? Even so, a truly good photographer is able to make the average looking person look good through clever use of lighting. On the flipside, a crappy photographer will make a good looking person look bad. I think Xiaxue's blog highlighted a few... and there are lots more in the Portraiture section.
I think paying to shoot a more attractive subject (which is a bit subjective... because some of these models are rather sub-par) is a rather empty affair. I think you won't learn more about photography by shooting attractive subjects vs our friends and family.
Why do people pay to shoot then? That's were I think Xiaxue got it pretty spot-on. She may use very strong language because she's an attention seeker, but there's a lot of truth in what she said.
