X-T1

My main concern is not resolution or IQ, how does it compare w D800 on terms of AF speed & accuracy? w regards to missing shots for like wedding day or events? Thx

My expectations of the AF might be quite different from you. I usually shoot things which doesn't move. never had any issues with AF accuracy. like if said in the review, AF speed varies from the lenses I used. This is also the same for my D800E. however, I do think that the X-T1's AF speed isn't exactly what some claimed to be. It's definitely far from being fast. DSLRs are still a few steps ahead if you asked me.

Nice review Kit. However its a pity from that angle the grip cannot be seen. Also, manual focusing on wide angle lenses should be pretty easy if use zone focusing no?

you can only use zone focussing if there is a distance scale available. Not all lenses come with it.

Thanks for the review and the reply.

More info appreciated :)

Did a write-up on my thoughts of the X-T1. Write-up for the 10-24mm f/4 will also be up shortly.

Hi kit, nice review. Just want to hear your opinion on the hand grip. How much of a difference did it make and will u consider switching to the large grip which was recently announced. Thanks and looking forward to ur review on the 10-24.

The MHG-XT provides a deeper finger grip, a bit too deep for me actually. I'd imagine it will work nicely with the upcoming heavier and bulkier lenses. I suggest you try both grips at the shops yourself before deciding. Am working on the 10-24mm review at the moment.

Prices in Funan also around there for X-T1 + kit lens. Body only is around $1850-1900.

But if you browse back a few pages, you will notice that the street prices in KL are almost S$500 cheaper for both body or body + kit, with international warranty too. I believed cheaper than HK prices.

The only saving grace for Fuji prices in SG is that they offer free XC50-230 lens if you buy with kit lens.
But even if you managed to sell the free lens for $200-250, you're still being short changed by Fuji SG

That photo was deliberately overexposed by 2 stops so I need to use high ISO to maintain manageable shutter speed since it was shot handheld.

I also go for the required depth of field so I rarely take photos with aperture wider than f/8 or f/11. However, I'd imagine that at the wider apertures, the corners will not be as well resolved on this lens. I'm just guessing though. Maybe I should try to find out.

Can Fuji use a different rubber material for XT-1? Tried it in Fuji showroom at Funan. It was tacky, sticky and annoying.

It may function well in countries with colder climate. But not in tropical Singapore.

Can buy a half case for it

Thanks for the feedback. Looking forward to more awesome reviews. Cheers :)

U sure it's sgd500 lower in kl for body alone option? That's like sgd1.3~1.4k?

I paid the equivalent of sgd1.45k in Malaysia. So yes the figure is correct.
