cool..any idea where its near ? like landmarks or smth?

and..it IS possible to x-process 35mm right ?

cos every shop i went to ask..only x-process slides.. (ie process slides using 35mm chemical)

if what you wrote is how i have interpreted it, your concept of x-pro is wrong. haha.

anyway, 35mm is a film format, ie film size. there are other formats like 120mm (the film that holgas use), 126mm (the film that kodak brownies use, no more in production though), 127mm etc. but 35mm is the most common and cheapest lah.

the next thing you should know is that there are different kinds of films, namely negative and positive films.
majority of the time, consumers and the masses use colour negative film which is developed with C41 chemicals. negative colour films are films like: kodak gold 200, fuji superia 400 etc.
colour positive films are slides which are developed with E8 chemicals, the ones that can give you whacky colours (through cross processing). positive colour films are films like: kodak elitechrom, portra etc.

Cross Processing aka x-pro is the process of developing slides with C41 chemicals instead of E8 chemicals. this intended 'mistake' gives you the funny and whacky colours that many desire.

hence, you NEED slide film to X-PRO your roll, REGARDLESS of the film type (ie 35mm or 120mm or etc).

hope this helps.

ahh..thanks..

so that means..i can't process my film using E8 chemical ?

sorry if this gets confusing..but i do know the difference between slides n normal film..

just wondering if its possible..or if there is a need to x-pro normal film.. (ie. using E8 chemical instead of C41)

oh. i think i get what you're trying to ask now. haha.

erm theoratically, you can x-process negative film with E8, but no one does it. i asked the uncle at ruby (i think it was him) and he told me no one does it lah.

so yah, i think you can only x-pro slides.

hope this is what you're looking for. haha.

here's a tip. transfer your slides into a normal negative film canister and just go to any local photostore that you dont intend to return to and get it processed there. so you'll get slides processed in c41. just pretend to look shocked when you collect your film.

yeah..i've called up a few shops..n no one seems to do it in SG..i've seen pictures of film x-pro in E8 tho...n its a very nice "dreamy" effect..

gonna try and ask a friend if he has a darkroom at work where it can be done..

This is a big :nono:, you will be contaminating their whole tank of chemicals which can cost up to thousands. I don't think you should encourage such irresponsible behaviours. There are already so few shops willing to do x-pro as it is, why make things harder for them?

Am3thyst, cross processing slides usually gives wacky colours, that's why ppl tend to use slides and process in C41. The other way of shooting negatives and processing in E8 gives dull washed out colours, and I doubt any shops in SG will do it too.

don't be an ass, you really shouldn't. how much more would it cost for you to x-pro!?

hmm. not sure if you clicked on the wiki link. anyway, it says something about developing colour negs in b&w solution, and it giving pastel-ly colours. you may want to try that. haha.

oh. you may want to try redscale photography. ha. i'm going to try it soon, sounds damn fun. hahaha.

ndroo has a little write up on how to roll the film from one canister to another (it's on his blog if i remember correctly)

oh. and i don't think it'll be easy developing the negs on your own. ha. do they even sell slide developers!? haha. oh. and you've to keep it warm or hot if i'm not wrong. i asked the uncle at ruby if you can actually do your own colour developing. he told me can, but not worth the while. haha.

post the x-proed neg roll if you do get it done! i think it'll be quite cool to see. haha.

Just shoot with a slide film and process in normal C41 that commonly what lomoers did. But make sure you inform the lab that your film is a slide film. Some of the lab do understand bout this format of x-pro.

still trying my best...i might just process it normally by the end of the week if i still can't find anywhere to do it..have already checked with all the shops that do x-pro in SG..

and here's what it would look like http://www.redbubble.com/people/bubblechicky/art/979841-5-im-cross

woops sorry. what i meant was transfer the normal negatives into a canister that formerly belongs to a roll that requires E6 chemicals. meant the other way around.

You will still contaminate the chemicals. In fact this is worse since E6 requires more chemical steps!

you are evil! hahahaha.

bah..i finally went to get my film processed as normal..and guess what..dunno if its a camera fault or what..but everything turned out WAYYYY over exposed..basically..the entire roll of film was washed out..

That's sad to hear =( What camera are you using btw? Some cameras just have this characteristic that's better for x-pro. Also, as a side note, you're suppose to overexpose you slides by about 1.5 stops if you intend to x-pro them.
