Quick question : what kind of cable does it use to connect to PC ? Is it the standard USB or mini-USB cable ? Or proprietary cable ?
It uses the mini-USB cable, it is provided together with the $159 package and easily available at any computer hardware shop

EastGear, is the external battery compatible with X-Drive I? If not, do you have the external battery pack for X-Drive I? Thanks.

Compatible with all the Memory Cards - No Adapter required (apart from xD which require a CF adapter)

The X-Drive works with all current memory cards used with digital cameras: Compactflash, IBM Microdrive, SmartMedia, Memory Stick (Sony & LexarMedia), Memory Stick Pro, Secure Digital, and MultiMediaCard.

hmm..looks like my xD card for Olympus a bit troublesome leh..

Wah...like that means total bill can expect about how much?

$90 + $159 + hard disk (how much ah?)
= $300++++

Can buy 3 128MB cards liao...

4 x 128MB cards can take about 400 lah (roughly) 3 mega-pixels photos...hmm

Dunno worth buying or not leh.

The internal HDD is optional. You can opt to buy the XDrive II with or without a HDD.

Your call. The XDrive II can act as an external HDD as well, so that's a big plus (for me, at least :sweatsm:)

:Later,

can find out if Xdrive II work as an external HDD - that is can install operation system, install programs and transfer file to Xdrive using computer/laptop ?

Is it possible to use normal HDDs?? The 3.5" ones?

Of course not lah, the casing is only for 2.5" ones
Even the connector for 2.5" HDD is different from the 40 pin IDE connector for 3.5" HDD

Does anyone know roughly how much a 2nd hand 2.5" 10GB or 20GB HDD will cost?
