Wanting to sell my Russian-made Kiev 19 camera! I got this shipped directly from Kiev, Ukraine itself, with all the wording on it in Russian. Seriously as tough as a brick, it weighs 911g when bare because of all the tough metal used. Heck I think the only plastic parts are the mounting face (not the mount ring), some knobs and the internal spools.
THIS CAMERA TAKES NIKON MOUNT LENSES. More on this below
Cosmetically 9/10. Very light user marks, and a slightly dirty viewfinder. No light leaks, with labels and indications all very clear. Just the KIEV-19 on the faceplate being slightly yellowed from age. The back film label holder even shows GOST / ISO and DIN table. Insides are clean.
Functionally 10/10. Shutter fires correctly at all speeds including B, meter works as indicated, advance lever is very snappy. Film loading, rewind and release all work as intended. Hotshoe works too, though I don't think the flash function will be utilised much, if at all.
Some more info;
Meter rated for ASA/ISO 12-600, GOST 11-500, DIN 12-28 (even though the back shows ISO800 - DIN30 conversion).
Center-weighted meter takes 2x LR44 batteries.
Fully mechanical shutter fires from 1/2s-1/500s with Bulb mode.
Stop-down meter will take and meter ANY lens in Nikon F mount because of its design. It will take Non-AI lenses. It will take AI, AI-S and AI-converted lenses. It takes AF and D lenses. It even takes modern G lenses if you shoot at minimum aperture.
Apart from the internal +/- meter it's fully mechanical.
Serial number 91XXXXX, indicating it was made in 1991.
Did I mention that it's heavy because it's almost entirely metal?
RFS - too many cams, too little time to shoot.
Asking for $150, can nego but please be reasonable. Strap lugs and hotshoe insert are already attached. Will throw in fresh batteries for the meter on purchase. Feel free to bring a lens to try it out with before purchase, otherwise let me know in advance and I can try to bring a lens for you to test on the spot!
WYSIWYG, I will give 3 days of personal warranty if any functions don't work.
Might trade with Nikon or Nikon compatible stuff, drop me a PM if you do! ! Particularly interested with Nikon Film SLR that gives full control with G lenses!
Thanks for viewing
