Advertisement Category: Want To Sell (WTS)
Equipment Type: MediumFormat
Equipment Brand: Rollei/Rolleiflex
Equipment Model: Rolleiflex 2.8E Planar
Price (S$): $1100 slightly nego
Description:
For sell is a very good condition Rolleiflex 2.8E with Carl Zeiss Planar Lens, the predecessor of 2.8F with older construction but same optics. Bought from a fellow CSer in May but only shot 2 rolls with it, decide TLR shooting style is not for me so better find it a new owner rather than sitting in my Dry Cab all the time.
Cosmetically very clean, overall can rate 8.5 conservatively, only minor paintloss on the edge of viewfinder. No dings or dents whatsoever. It's hard to come by consider its age (1950s).
Optically almost perfect apart from some little coating loss on the edge of taking lens. Not a scratch on the glass and it takes sharp pictures with smooth bokeh even wide open.
Functions perfectly apart from two common issues you would typically expect due to aging:
- light meter is useless
- slow shutter speeds (<1/30) are noticeably slower
I didn't attempt to re-adjust the shutter speeds as I was advised by a senior bro that it not worth it since I'm not gonna use <1/30 shutter speeds with steady shots for TLR which is true.
