Super awesome, rare-ish Polaroid Land camera. Manufactured in the early 70s, the black/grey body and red lettering is strikingly reminiscent of an NES... Another fantastic plastic chunk of goodness. Most of the camera is auto - just focus and fire away.
This particular example has gone through much work to use fujifilm peel-apart packfilm. Unlike other Land cameras, electronic timer models don't really feed fuji packfilm without mods! But now, it readily accepts FP-100C and FP-3000B with buttery-smooth operation. Runs like a champ.
Work includes:
Corrosion removal, polishing, lubrication of:
Folding mechanism, opens and closes with no resistance or stickiness.
Rangefinder/focussing rails
Catches, hinges
Rollers and roller bearings, smoother than a baby's bottom
Clean delete of the electronic timer mechanism, retaining external appearance and dial, totally light tight
Rewiring of the circuits - electronic timer wiring cleanly removed, shutter circuit now driven by 2 AAA batteries. Metering tested as accurate.
Rangefinder windows and camera lens have obviously been cleaned up as well. See sample images, taken just yesterday. Focus is spot-on.
Comes complete with the camera body, original black/grey viewfinder, neckstrap and detachable body cover. In excellent shape overall.
This is a GREAT camera for everyday use. It makes big prints, yet packs flat for easy carrying. Being a plastic body model it is also lighter than most but just as tough.
A suitable, clean base for further upgrades such as a Zeiss Ikon viewfinder, or perhaps even a manual lens conversion!
