Detailed Description:
Hi all, up for sale is my Carl Zeiss Sonnar T 85mm f/2.0 for Leica M.
This is a very rare lens as only 200 pieces were made by the original Carl Zeiss lab in Germany, unlike the usual current Zeiss lenses that are made by Cosina in Japan. The lens was discontinued in or around year 2011 due to high production cost.
Scarcity factor aside, the performance of this lens has made it very reputable as the images that it renders are sharp at wide open with very nice and smooth creamy bokeh. Both Erwin Puts and Sean Reid reviewed the lens in comparison against Leitz APO Summicron 90 ASPH and they have given it a very favourable rating.
The condition of the lens is excellent both exterior and mechanism as the lens is very well built.
Focus is smooth and aperture clicks properly. The optics are clean and free from scratches, dust and fungus.
There is no issue whatsoever with the lens.
Included is the original hood, caps and box.
