If you are in the market for a telephoto, this is definitely a lens to consider. It is sharp, like the 85mm f/1.8G sharp. Bokeh rendering is smooth at the long end. It is light, at approximately half of its heavier cousins. And may I stress, the VR is probably the best amongst all of Nikon's VR lenses right now.

As great as the lens is, I don't use it enough to justify the purchase.

Thanks for interests in lens. It's currently reserved, but I will be glad to share my experiences if anyone has any questions.

Personally, I love the handling and IQ of this lens. Not many lenses can claim impeccable sharpness and microcontrast wide open. Also, the VR has helped me to nail a lot of static low light shots. I cannot stress this enough, but the weight is a BIG bonus. Combine it with an ultra wide and you can cover pretty much any range for travel photography.

Unfortunately, with my shooting style and needs, I don't use this range often enough and when I do, my subject is probably moving so vr doesn't help....

Think about the lens and your needs before you buy. Try it out at NSC. Given Singapore's no return policy, NSC is THE best place to play with lenses with no obligations. Have fun, good luck.
