Description:
For sale is a beautiful Leica M lens - 35mm f2 Summicron. This is known as the type 2 summicron with 6-elements optical design. Most of the type 2 summicron were made in Canada but a small number were made in Germany, like this particular one.
The condition of this lens is beautiful, with pristine glass. Everything works as it should and it produces very nice pictures with a classic feel to it. I have tested it side by side with the type-4 Summicron (aka Bokeh King), this lens has comparable resolution but a slightly lower contrast cf. the type 4, which may be a plus point if you shoot B&W.
This example was produced in 1970 so it is almost 50 years old now and yet it performs as if it is just out of oven today. It would be very hard to find a better copy of this lens. Don't let it pass you by!
