This is a top rangefinder camera, different from side rangefinder version. There is an accurate cam for the 135mm lens in the camera body. To use the lens, slide the lens board to the infinity stop. When you view through the ground glass, it is focussed at infinity. This makes it easy for landscape photography. This is the reason why the 135mm Optar lens, even with fungus and blade oil, is still kept. Another 135mm lens will not be accurate with infinity focus and you cannot focus with the rangefinder accurately.
The working rangefinder adds value to this camera. This is a good set up for portraiture, similar to 45mm lens in a 35mm camera.
(For 90mm lens used frequently in landscape photography, rangefinder is not necessary.)
