Selling a beloved SMC Pentax-F 100/2.8 1:1 auto focus macro lens. It's the first AF 100mm macro lens by Pentax, and rated the best one among all four versions: F100/2.8, FA100/2.8, FA100/3.5 and DFA100/2.8. It's much better built then the current DFA100, and considered better built than the FA versions too (mostly due to better QC in the old days). The coating is slightly different from the current DFA100 macro lens. IQ wise, I prefer the old F/FA one over the DFA version.

The lens is in excellent condition, some normal use mark on the barrel. Glass is flawless. Everything works as good as expected from a gem lens like this. Comes w/ front and rear Pentax caps.

Selling to cut down my collection. Looking for $630 or best offer.

I got the FA 100mm f2.8.

Love Macro lens.. they are just way sharper than most lens (abeit a little slower in focusing). The DA 35mm is my walk around PRIME.

Guys, get it ... just look at the condition! It's just incredible. I thought it's NEW.

The only difference between the FA and F is the clamp which the F doesn't have. But I don't really find that very useful.

The focus delimiter is really helpful and clearly makes it a telephoto when required!

Denis, I am kinda settled on my macro range and the units I've got.

DA 35mm - General purpose and still life macro
A 50mm - still life macro and when i want it a little more control?
FA 100mm - getting nearer to my objects (buts, caterpillas, spiders, Dragonflys, and a general purpose tele)

What I meant was if I haven't got the FA version, I would have got this from Feng Wei.

I am enjoy the FA version very much, sharp and though a little heavy, it's very nice to handle ... Will bring it along during Hort Park / Butterfly park on Sunday.

Not tried the F version, but given that it looks quite similar, and built similarly, should be very very good as well.

OTC, mai tu liao, but then again, you have one of the best Macros Pentax has ever built, so not sure if you actually need another ;-) ... Having said that, Feng Wei might have already sold it ...
