Equipment Model: Lens Sales (Letting go of many of my nikon lens)
Price (S$): As below
Description:
Hi everyone, selling off a few of my nikon lens that i not using often as i am using more of my canon 5D now. Will still be keeping
some of the lens i use more like 17-35,28-70,70-200VR but letting go some for now. Partially also because i have been eyeing some higher end lens like 200f2,
105f1.8 so these few will have to go to make space. Possibly making space for a D3 in time to come as well.
1. AF-S DX 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G
Selling this D70s kit lens. Got it with my D70 in the past. Not been using much so selling it off now. Good condition, rubber no sweat marks at all. Full set
with hood, caps etc. Very Sharp copy. This lens will not be out resolved and still gives very good quality even on high end bodies like D2Xs, D300 etc. The
range of this lens is fantastic for walk around and travelling, just get another lens like 70-300 and it should cover most photographers' needs. Do note the
build of the lens as well. Which is similar to higher end lens like like 18-200VR , 24-120VR etc. This lens can no longer be bought easily locally as well
because it was sold with the D70/s as a kit but no longer available. The kit lens now like the 18-135 and 18-55 / VR, do not have such built and are of
smaller apertures. At 18mm, they are all F3.5 but at 55mm, The 18-55 is already F5.6, at 70mm the 18-135 is already F5.3, which its still F4.5 for this lens.
Making this the fastest of the kit lens.
A shot with this lens:
Selling this mint condition rarely used lens at only $300.
2. AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED
This is the 3rd newest zoom lens from Nikon. It sports a very nice VR2, which is about 4 stops of light assistance in terms of handholding. so at 300f5.6,
handholdability is equivalent to 300 F1.4... there isnt even such a lens, but it makes it very easy to handhold for tele shots. Without the thin DOF that
would meant easily off focus as well. In terms of image quality, it definitely delivers as well as any of the higher end lens like 70-200VR, 80-200F2.8 due
to the lens construction and the nice ED element.
Selling on behalf of friend. He bought it but decided to sell to fund a 300F2.8 prime for birding uses. Lens in totally brand new condition. If i told you it
new, you will believe looking at the condition. Even the lens cap silver nikon words all intact. Still have about 5months months warr.
Selling at $750.
3. AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED
Totally mint condition lens. Got from a friend who bought the 18-200VR with his D80 and gave this to me for trying. Pretty sharp for such a high zoom lens.
It gives a very good zoom range for this price, any wider range would be the 18-200VR which cost 3-4 times more. Lens less than a year but cant find warr
card.
Image taken with lens:
Selling $350 for this mint condition, almost unused lens.
4. AFD 80-200 F2.8
For those asking about the 80-200, i have some images here. Already sold one set, now left another set to let go. This lens is Very very sharp. feel free to
come compare it against other more exp lens like the 70-200VR and you will see... no obligations.
This is not my set, but the same model. Equally good condition. Selling one and keeping another.
This is a one touch but AFD version. note that there are 3 versions of one touch, with the 2nd having ED glass, and the 3rd having ED glass and AFD
specification. Hence this version is different, better and newer than those 2nd version ones ppl are throwing out cheaply. Compared to it the crumpled
coating covers more area, giving better feel. In terms of focus speed and design it is similar and just as good as the current 80-200 2 touch. only losing
out in having the tripod collar. This set i have was bought from a lens collector and in totally MINT condition. Plus from my test it is very sharp wide open
F2.8, even with a kenko tele plus 2X TC at 400f5.6 its still sharp. Interested buyers welcomed to give it a try. Selling at $900.
5. AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED
Selling this len in full set with original hood. Please do not confuse this lens with the cheap 70-300G lens that others are selling. That is a really crap
budget 100+ lens that cant even take decent shots in bright daylight. This lens has the aperture ring and ED glass elements, allowing for much better
contrast and sharpness. Comparing with the newer 70-300VR, it loses in terms of the VR and silent focusing but is slightly better in terms of image quality.
Better than 3rd parties like tamron and sigma, and the 75-300 which cant focus at infinity at 75. Its rather lightweight and good for travelling with, when
you dont wish to drag the weight of the F2.8 lens along. With the 18-70 kit lens, it covers 18-300mm, pretty much all you will need. Overall in good working
condition except for some slight user marks. I have many keeper shots with it.
Image taken with lens:
Selling off this sharp and contrasty ED lens at $350.
6. AIS 28mm f2.8 E series
Image taken with it:
Selling at $200
7. AIS 35mm F2.8 E series. Very small and light portable lens. Good condition. Selling only $150.
"Probably a good alternative to the more expensive Nikkor wideangle lenses if cost is a factor to consider. This lightweight, extremely compact design was a
result of a simple 5 elements in 6 group design."
"The NIC coating perhaps has contributed to its uniform high contrast, neutral colour rendition."
Images taken with lens:
8. AIS 50mm F1.4 (manual lens)
Good old prime lens. Metal and glass, small but very solid and heavy. The lens gives very sharp images and good for taking in low light condition. The
aperature blades structure together with large aperture gives very nice bokeh for closeup and portrait shooting. Please do not compare this with the AFD 50mm
f1.4... one is from a generation of master craftsmen in japan polishing lens to perfection before selling in limited amounts, the other is mass produced in
some china factory today.
Built, construction and quality totally different. AF is convenient but purely for image quality the Manual len is still superior. good condition.
Selling at $350
Known to be better than the AFD 50mm F1.4, especially at wide open. The bokeh and very thin depth of feel gives a really nice effect. In the above shot at
wide open F1.4, the focus is on the thin black wire. The thin DOP makes the wire really "pops" out in the shot. I dont have a ready model to shoot, but for
the portrait lovers out there... This will definitely make the shot.
9. AF 50mm f1.8 non D made in Japan in good condition
This is the very very first version 50f1.8 AF with the clear window like the other primes. I would much prefer if they kept the design this way to be uniform
with all the other primes 20/24/28/35/50f1.4/60/85 and so on but i guess to cut cost they had to use the more plastic design.
Performance wise of cos its very sharp even at f1.8 as well.
This is a collector's item at a collector's price. Selling at $250. If you are looking just to buy one for using pls go buy the plastic AFD at about 180.
10. AF 85mm f/1.8
Very good condition 85F1.8... Dont use it often so selling off. comes with front rear caps. Sharp lens that produce decent quality images even at wide open
F1.8. 85mm has a 9 bladed aperture, together with the large aperture and tele, its gives very nice bokeh and is one of the best for portaits. Of cos, the
85F1.4 would definitely be better you have to fork out 3 times the price, for that bit faster. Selling at $500.
11. AIS 100mm F2.8 E series
" The version introduced at early stage has similar appearance of other Series E optic. It does not has a meter coupling prong on the aperture ring. The
aperture ring and focusing ring was a square plastic grip design with 4 rows for the focusing grip. They are all matte finished externally and distance
scales are conceal, displaying distance info in another separate rotating ring. The positive aspect of the lens is its light weight (only 215g) and
compactness. The depth of field scales are also very well illustrated. And most of all, the lens is a Ai-S-spec lens in nature. The second upgraded version
has improved its handling by adding an Aluminum aperture ring and the four rows square grips have been reverted back to a more welcoming Nikkor's rubberized
grip design.
However, despite its lack of quality finishes in its construction, optically this lens exhibits an entirely different impression. It is sharp and images are
uniformly maintaining very high contrast for all apertures. The f/2.8 maximum aperture provides is quite adequate for general available light photography and
it also provides a reasonably good manipulation of depth of field control control. Given its optical performance and affordable cost entry (especially the
used ones). This lens is a very good alternative to other excellent Nikkor optic at this specific focal length. "
This lens is abit plastic outside compared to the 105f2.5 but supposingly they follow the same optical formula and this lens thus produce very nice portraits
as well.
Lens in totally MINT condition. Selling $220.
Built with similar optics design as the 105F2.5, the 100mm gives very sharp shots even at wide open. The telelens effect allows for isolation of subject.
12. AI 105mm F2.5
13. AIS 105mm F2.5
The 105 is the first lens that attracted me to nikon manual lens years ago. As we had discussed here..
http://forums.clubsnap.com/showthread.php?t=247893
This lens i truely a legend, the bokeh is damn nice making it fantastic for shooting ppl..
Taken some time back by me
Damn.. this lens actually made it into Nikon's Tales of 1001 Nights..
Read it here:
http://www.nikon.co.jp/main/eng/portfolio/about/history/nikkor/n05_e.htm
Google it and you can see discussions on it in forums all over the world.
The AI and AIS difference is on the built in hood and the coating, but image wise both are very good. I happened to collected 2 of each kind, so letting off
one each. Selling $350.
14. Non-Ai 135mm f/3.5 Nikkor-Q Auto telephoto lens
Very sharp lens and nice contrasty lens.
Another very nice nikon tele lens.. Though not a fast f2.8, its gives very nice and sharp images. Modification already done or it to be fitted on nikon
DSLRs.. Collector's item Selling only $150.
15. Nikon Series E 36-72mm f/3.5s Zoom lens
http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/emfgfg20/eserieslenses/images/3672Ec.JPG
http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/emfgfg20/eserieslenses/images/3672Ed.JPG
A nice walk about range on film or FF bodies.. Constant f3.5 aperature as well. Good for those shooting with film. Lens in totally mint condition.
Image taken with lens:
Selling off at only $150.
16. AIS 100-300F5.6
Sadly a rather underrated lens. This lens is really sharp at F5.6 through out and i love the very solid full metal construction.
Taken with this lens
300mm with 2 pieces of 2X TC, a nikon TC201 and Tokina RMC 2X, on a D200, mounted on tripod.
" The close focus design allows the focusing to reach a minimum distance of only 0.71m (2.3 ft.) where a reproduction ratio of a good 1:44 is reach at this
close distance. Similarly, this Ai-S only Nikkor zoom adopts a pull and push sliding zoom design which enables it to be easily handle for maneuver for fast
change of focal length in picture composition and/or responding to quick action shooting. The all-in-one single zoom/focusing ring of this lovely zoom was
generously extended for positive, slip-free hand gripping and its main strength is ease of handling while maintaining a constant aperture of f/5.6 throughout
its entire focal length. The requirement of the light gathering power has resulting to its slightly larger physical dimension and weighs almost a kg (930g)
and it has a 62mm filter attachment size. "
Another shot taken with it:
This shot is of the SUN, not the moon.
Letting go at $300. Lens in very mint condition.
17. Sigma 28-105 F2.8-4 Made in Japan
It is not a constant F2.8 like the 28-70, however it gives the extra range in 70-105mm. Sharpness and contrast are both good. The lens is a good compromise
between range and aperture size, at a good affordable price.
Lens in good condition, partially gaffered up to prevent scratches or wear and tear. Comes full set with front rear caps and hood. The use of aspherical lens
reduces various aberrations and improves optical performance..
Very similar to this but not the DG version:
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0509/05092204sigma_28-105.asp
Description: This f/2.8 lens sets a new standard for all zooms. Its unusually large maximum aperture is made possible by an extra-wide aspherical lens to
provide higher optical performance in a number of ways including effective anti-flare features and crisp-to-the-edge images. An internal focusing mechanism
allows the front of the lens to remain stationary and to easily accommodate specialty filters, such as polarizing
The lens is not soft at all. It is actually pretty sharp. Make sure shutter is fast enough for hand held and the lens is focused on what you are shooting.
Otherwise, the picture is not going to be sharp.
I bought it when it first came out due to the large f/2.8 aperture @ 28mm. I have been using this lens for more than 5 years.
" I like using this lens very much due to it fast aparture and not too heavy.
Sigma has discontinued making this exact lens and replace it with no aperture ring.
Strengths:
Cheap and fastf/2.8mm at 28mm
Weaknesses:
The aperture ring is too thin. Construction can be better if price is higher for this lens."

18. Tokina 24-40 ATX F2.8
Selling on behalf of friend. Rarely used lens in totally mint condition. Very solid metal built like tank. As the range is short, it gives very nice sharp
images even at wide open.
Image taken with the lens on a D3:
Selling at only $300 for this sharp mint condition full frame lens. Comes with front rear caps.
19. Tokina 80-200 F2.8 ATX Pro
Lens rarely used and in totally mint condition. Note that this is the gold ring version with very good reviews. The lens comes with tripod mount, front rear
caps. Glass is clean and shots are very sharp contrasty even at wide open. Very value for money for those not paying 1.6K for the AFD or 2.7K for the AFS.
Image taken with it:
Sharp, contrasty, nice bokeh with the 9 blades aperture, small enough for travelling and handholding but still built like a tank.
Selling at only $750.
