Hi YO, your Zeiss Planar ZF100/2 still available? I am using a D3 as well. Some questions if you don't mind...

1) The lens I understand is full manual focussing?
2) Is aperture set on the lens aperture ring only, or can it be locked in minimum position and aperture set from the D3 just like AF Nikkors?
3) Shooting modes can be M (Manual), A (Aperture Priority), S (Shutter-speed priority). Will the D3 compute the shutter-speed when the aperture is set manually on the lens? Will the aperture be set automatically when S mode is selected on the D3?

Seriously considering your lens. Also looking for a ZF50 and ZF18. TIA, Fred

if u r serious to build up the ZF lenses collection, you may want to check the paid review from Diglloyd http://diglloyd.com/diglloyd/infos/ZeissZFLenses/index.html. It answers all of your questions here.

1/ yes,
2/ nikon body support auto stop-down metering if im not wrong.
3/ dont think that you can work in Tv mode.

correct me if i'm wrong...

Anyway, u cann't go wrong with 100 makro-planar, one of the best in this category. Upz for the lens!
