Equipment Type: Lens
Equipment Brand: Carl Zeiss Jena M42 29/2.8 at $60 for a reason
Equipment Model: M42 29/2.8 at $60 for a reason ;)
Price (S$): $60
Description:
I will come direct why it is valued at only $60 ;) On the second element from the front, it has some cleaning marks and bubbles. From the look outside, the condition is very clean and nice. Comes with front and rear caps.

On lens barrel it writes: Democratic Republic of Germany

It was used a Nikon D70 with a M42 adaptor(not included and it belongs to a friend) and some pictures were taken. See the picture and I think you will know that the defects have no effect on the pictures.

Hi I'm interested~

Please PM me contact details.

On what camera bodies can this be mounted on ?

The beauty is not just in the lenses itself. The M42 mount is a versatile mount with many adaptors available. They are cheap too ;) Many photographers from the old school who love or own the manual M42 lenses did not want to lose the use of these M42 lenses. Especially in China and Hong Kong, they came out with every imaginable adaptor you could think of to complement the use of these lenses on the modern slr n dslr bodies.

The better adaptor would be able to focus to infinity. Likewise, the lenses could be adjusted for a small fee by a technician to focus to infinity.

The pictures on the above post were taken with a Kiev Russian made adaptor(my friend bought it at $6.50 in Vietnam!) together with the CZJ lens mounted on a Nikon D70. The adaptor was a cheap one and not able to focus to infinity. Lens was not adjusted internally as well.

But at close range photography, the bokeh behind the subject was marvelicious.

Last and most economical option is to buy an original M42 mount body:
Pentax Spotmatics
The earlier Yashicas
Fujica ST 605, ST701 and the best is ST801
Even Rollei has a series for M42, Exakta makes M42 bodies as well.

But the grand-daddy of the M42 origin has the Pentax Spotmatic to thank for.

Im using a Sony 300 though. I admit Im a noob. I just bought it and have only been playing around with it. I am looking to play around with a low f -stop lens such this on the cheap. Do you think it will fit with an adaptor?

You need an adapter M42 to Alpha mount. Here the link you can purchase it here:http://store.tagotech.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_38&products_id=57
