hi thanks for your interest.

a lens that is sharp will of cos be as sharp on another camera body theortically.

however, a 400D is ~$700 while a 5D is ~$3000.

i hope you do not have the misunderstanding that getting this lens would make the 400D image quality as good as the 5D's
