Ok Thanks. So buying Nikkor lenses might wanna check if there is those Made In Thailand ones first?
There are some lenses that are solely made in Thailand, and some solely made in Japan. Normally if there is a MiJ and MiT, it means that the initial RnD (research and development) and production is in Japan, then it moved to Thailand for production later.
Let's say that it is a lens that you really want, but production is only in Thailand, does that mean that you would not buy the lens anymore? I do not see that one is worse off than another, but in every production line, there is a certain percentage of defects. It may even result from the production line that made the silicon wafer that was sold to Nikon to make the chips, etc. Sometimes, you just hit a lemon, but more often than not, it is a user error. I bought a lens that I thought had problems, but after going to Nikon Service Center, they said everything was fine, and after talking to one of their techs, I realized that it was a scientific thing (I caught the flicker of the flourescent bulb at a fast shutter speed and hence the pic showed different colors).
Your title of the thread is "Worried Guy Here!" There is a difference between pre-empting something from happening and worrying. I pre-empt what might happen by reading known issues, so if it does happen to me, I know what to look out for and what to do. However, I do not worry about this situation happening, and if I live in worry, I live in the fear of what might happen and kill the joy of the moment and in photography. Every worry is about something that had not happen yet, and might not even happen at all. So bro... dun worry... enjoy the life that we have and make the most of it
