it's been some time I entered clubsnap forums and actually browse thru' the threads available and i didn't know this thread existed before.

i was another victim who got cheated at this ****ing store. I went to peninsula plaza on saturday, today, and wanted to go cathay photo to get pair of 400TMax film. When I went there, the shop was closed and I saw two boxes of 400TMax film available in this shop. I asked the sales person and they told me it's 15 bucks! I bargained. The shop gave me 14 bucks. I was still unsatisfied and asked for 13. The person gave me the "heck care" look and just sold me each box for 13.

I realized the 400TMax is selling at 5.50 - 6 bucks there (can't remember. i was furious when I heard it's below 10) after I check from Cathay Photo.

When I ran back to the store, it was closed at 8.45pm.

Just wish to prevent all new photographers out there not to buy your camera products or accessories there.

why didn't you do your necessary homework before buying the films then? you'd have walked away after finding that the price was too high.

i just needed it urgently. i called the place up and that bugger just hung up after i told him it's 5.50.

er ... I think there is nothing much you can do ... different shops sell the same things at different prices ... like the same brand of white rice in different supermarts is sold at different prices (or the same camera lens in different shops), you need to do ur homework first ... otherwise, its a case of "willing seller, willing buyer" ...

Take it as a lesson and move on. Perhaps he see you need it urgently, thats why sell to you at such a premium price.

Luckily its not $100 over, but was rather sad to see that the price was more than double.

Please lah, if the item is really TMax 400, whats there to cheat? Real Stock sold at crazy price for willing party is legal. The oil price now is also at crazy record level, is it cheating? Why people still buying petrol?
