When I take the photos at the King Tiger, I notice there are all sorts of "wounds" around the tank.
But none pentrate it's armour.

For this King Tiger was hitted by Allies tank within 300m and notice the top part, only it's Zimmerit coating came off.

Hi luntut

Thanks. I love war history.
When I go in deeper in reading the more detailed history, the words "Tiger" was often mentioned and fearful by the Allies.

The Tiger's armour and firepower were feared by all its opponents.
It's create a big psychological effect on Allies tankee crews, causing "Tiger Phobia".
In some occassion, Allied tankers would evade or call off an attack rather than confront a Tiger tank.

indeed, Tigers were probably the most feared armoured vehicle in WWII. the mention of it sends shivers down any Allied tank commander, any day. And the Germans, knowing the impact and capability of the tigers, strategically locates the Tigers at major chokepoints. 1 well camo-ed and hidden Tiger can hold the Allied armour column for hours, with the allies taking subsential losses.

Great photos i must say again!!!

Reminds me one of the scene in Band of Brothers during Operation Market Garden, where 101st paratroopers, backed by British Sherman tanks entered an Dutch town.

2 well camo Tiger tanks were well hidden in ambush location, when the fight break loose, the Allies forces were force to retreat.

On a very personal message here, I would like to thank my wife, Alice, for having
the patience of enduring many trips to visit old tanks and battlefields in obscure places.

I am very fortunate to have the oppournity to see the remaining of the Real King Tiger of the German Panzer Force Kampfgruppe Peiper.
Her love and support are a part of this effort.
