Sure, I do enjoy it alot. Great efforts from you.
I am still thinking, what can make a man so brave to carry a rifle and charge straight into the enemy lines?
Where does the strength and courage come from?
thx for taking the pics, it somehow makes me feel feared, sad..
maybe cos of the scene i imagined when i saw the photos you took (esp the fox hole thats still there) and no, i wouldnt dare take the 600m charge
A lots of fox holes are still there today, and also the wooden logs where they use it for shelter or roof.
I have a short walk across the open field, imagine the feeling of the strength and the speed,
carrying the full gear and equipment to do the charge towards the town;
and facing the Germans 88mm, MG-42, snipers and etc.
I really salute the paratroopers of 101st. :thumbsup:
The Germans' Ardennes Offensive was then a surprise attack,
and many civilians were killed during the cross-fire between the Germans and Allies force.
There is no time for the civilians to escape, also to note that it is winter seasons and transport wasn't so flexible.
Most of the old towns in Ardennes area are still around today.
In fact, some building still have the damage and bear scar left behind since World War II.
Till today, the locals population have no intention to renovate or tear down any old building.

i remember a scene in BOB where 2 of the medic's buddy ask him to come under cover these so-call wooden logs that act as the roof. but when he crawl towards them, the foxhole was shelled by the Germans, killing the 2 soldiers. (correct me if im wrong, cant recall much, haha)

In time of war, believe the strength and courage must comes with the units itself.
From the men, to the NCOs and Officers, the bond and unity of brotherhood must be there to make the impossible possible.

Visualize one who fight with the finest military on earth, using the best equipment at that time, the terrain, the weather, the frustration of the soldiers.
