Wireless SD card

One other thing, using the camera connector for ipads will mean that you will have to transfer both the raw and jpegs from the sd card. Somehow, Apple doesn't allow you to copy just the jpegs.

By using eye-fi, you can split the jpegs out, which was why I decided to get an eye-fi card.

Hi,

Where can I get eye fi or Flashair II locally? I called Cathay, MS and TK all said they are not selling.

I got my eye-fi from SLRR, Funan.

Thanks. Just bought a copy of Toshiba FlashAir II 32GB Class 10 at SimLim.

I asked around and found that price of Eye-fi mobi 16GB is almost double than FlashAir II 32GB.

Got to try it out.

Manage to setup the Flashair II after upgrade to the latest Flashair firmware to pair with my em5 and iPhone 5. So far working fine. Nice!

Hi ahyoo2002, how's the start-up speed on the EM5 with the flash air? Any slower or just as fast as normal class 10 sd-cards?

just noticed that flashair is actually listed as incompatible with EM-5 by Toshiba due to the Magnesium Alloy body.
*4: It could not to do wireless LAN communication correctly because of the camera structure that is difficult to radio wave communication.
If anyone wants one, i have a 32GB Flashair II to let go.

Hi, no noticeable different in term of the start up speed. Previously I am using lower end of Sandisk extreme that is also class 10.

So far happy with the purchase and able to use the Oly Image share apps.

I am using EM5, no issue with the Flashair II.

it works for me as well, but spotty at best, and unpredictable. sometimes can be detected by my desktop(with wifi) and mobile phone all placed next to each other, while sometimes it just doesn't show up at all, even after restarting the camera, updated the firmware to latest, and played around with the timeout settings, doesnt seems to improve the reliability.

Hi all, I called slrr but they are not selling eyefi brand anymore. Anyone has site to recommend? Thanks~

I just got my hands on a 32 eye fi card. A friend bought it from bh. Qoo10 also has it.

Not that good an experience in using it.. many things left unsaid. .

What issues did you have with it? I set it up to send jpegs to my iPad and it hasn't been too problematic.

Not as smooth as I thought it would be. I send my Jpeg to my Samsung note 2. What happens is that it will interrupt my home Wifi network and start to transfer the jpegs on its own network.

However, since I have a data network, that transfer is interrupted whenever I have things that are pushed to me, like email etc etc..

Once the phone or ipad or whatever is connected to wifi provided by the wifi SD card or camera, it "expect" that it can talk to internet using this network. However, the wifi SD card or camera are not able to provide a hotspot. The only usage is for you to transfer the images over.

Hence, it is normal that your devices that connects to this wifi network is not able to use any application that needs the internet access.

I've got a Flashair 32GB. It allows passthrough mode which is impressive. The camera had to be quite near the AP though.
No issues with transferring files. This is great for editing files on my android tablet.

No that's not what I meant.. what I meant is that the transfer between the card and my phone will be interrupted if I received email or anything that is pushed to me on my data or 4G network.

Thus, I have to disable data comm. Until the transfer is done..

It's quite simple.

On the Flashair settings there is 2 things you can set:
1) The Flashair SSID where you connect to the Flashair using a device/phone/tablet.
2) The Router SSID where the Flashair will connect to.

So I connect my android tablet to the Flashair, and the flashair connects to the wifi router.

So while transferring files, I can still surf internet.
