Wireless SD card

Agree, however my Galaxy S3 (Andriod) apps couldn't let me to change my "Media destination folder" from the Application preference setting. Would want the Eyefi downloads to transfer to my microSD card than my phone memory.

do u happen to know how to get "write protect" off the om-d? i bought a flash-air card, and i've been trying for hours, its still not working.

Check if you are running Android 4.4.x , if yes you can't write to the micro SD card directly.

the card cant seem to turn off "write protect" on my om-d e-m5. i've been trying for 1 day already. anybody knows how to remedy this? im using th 16gb class 10 Toshiba Flashair card. quite a noob to wifi sd.

Why no manufacturer put Bluetooth function into the body....
Think bt transfer rate is much slower than wifi hence the preference over wifi.

May I know what is the price and where can I get this Wifi card?

use the eye-fi. Bought it once online and once overseas, BestBuy, for a friend.

I usually turn the eye-fi setting to off till I want to make a transfer. Find it saves battery life that way. Have used it on a couple of cameras and they all work ok. One way of using was to transfer over to iPad, edit via snap seed and post online. But those were casual shots.

When you turn on, does all images being transfer? Is it able to know when you last transfer or re-transfer everything again?

once uploaded it will not re-transfer everything again.

IMO, eye-fi seems faster.. The problem with flashair is that you will need to wait for the photo to load before you are able to view it clearly.. Then you need to press the save button to save it on your device

I've been using Eye-Fi X2 Pro (class 10) on my OMD as well for about 6 months.
On thing I've noticed is that the camera start up and buffer is much slower compared to a fast sandisk ultra SD card.
Overall, I think its bare-able but it does make a camera like the OMD EM-5 which is fairly quick slightly operationally, slightly slower.
Just my 2 cents before deciding to use these wifi cards.

i use flashair pair up with my fujis/panasonic with my android.

pretty straight forward.

snap all the pics..go stir coffee..on ur wifi on the phone search for flashair pair up wit the app.

then choose the tick and choose the pics u wanna save to ur phone.
each pic takes about 3seconds or less to upload to ur phone.

thats about 67 pics for like..2 mins? thats how much i took 2 days ago..was transferring hile walking..

do note camera MUST BE ON for it to connect.

last thing..its dirt cheap.so i recommend this over the expensive eyefi.

for for those who dun bother with $$..just spent it on the eyefi lor.

Hi, is your Flashair class 6? I saw one local shop trying to clear the Flashair for like $40, very cheap compare to Eyefi.

If I'm not wrong 16gb C10 sells for U$44

Eyefi is more suitable for certain features, esp if want to send/download straight to a folder on pc/mac.

Dnt tink any other cards offer that yet..

Haha, true. Problem is I am using iPhone.

And, I think it will be quite convenient to just leave the SD card inside the camera if using a wifi card.

yap, wifi is more convenient but card reader is also available for iphone, and the transfer is much quicker than wifi and won't be draining your camera's battery.

This one is for iPad, cannot be used for iPhone. I tried before. Or am I missing something?

One other thing, using the camera connector for ipads will mean that you will have to transfer both the raw and jpegs from the sd card. Somehow, Apple doesn't allow you to copy just the jpegs.

By using eye-fi, you can split the jpegs out, which was why I decided to get an eye-fi card.
