Haha, how many days will you be doing? Try Sapa if time permits..
Sapa is quite commercial and touristic if you dont have time to dig deep into the far villages.
The best way to explore sapa is to rent motorbikes with one tour guide, and take a day trip. He will be bring you to the further places which are not very accessible and popular to tourists. If you have few days to climb Fanxipan, the highest peak of Indochina, it would be nice too.
Another option is to visit some other places in north of vietnam which are not touristic yet: Moc Chau, Son La, Lai Chau, etc.

I'm currently in Sapa at the moment.

Its 2 meters visibility, 10-13degs at the moment.
Will be leaving tomorrow night, been here since the start of the week.
Just finished a trek to 3 villagers today, very muddy & slippery
