But I still won't buy :p

Waiting for Fuji x10!

I find it too expensive too..... lol....

I wanted to get a V1 badly. Went yesterday to my fave shop to purchase it as a replacement camera for my wife. However, when I tried it out, the caera just seems to have too many software bugs in it. After shooting a photo, the screen goes balnk, viewfinder blank, and then it freezes for a couple of seconds. The lens quality - erm ... plastic?!? Photo quality is ok - but definitely in the P&S category. Ended up disappointed and bought a NEX 5 instead (which I felt had better quality).

street price is lower. got to shoot with it extensively this evening, my friend got a pink kit! i must say im quite impressed with this camera! i think the ladies who want to step up from a compact camera to slightly more serious shooting will love it

there's a few gimmicky things like motion snapsnap. slow-mo video which i think are fun novelty functions.

Its a nikon camera, so i felt at home using it.

Sharpness and noise control has been impressive for me in real life shooting so far (for a sensor that is half the size of the m4/3).

No IS but ok if you shoot in bright light or bump up the ISO.

Why should an Oly lens have IS?

where are these built huh...
if thailand might be due to the flooding issues...

Nikon reporting that the manufacturing for the V1 and J1 is unable to keep up with worldwide demand.

Its made (assembled) in China but that doesn't mean all parts of the camera are made in China.

Many companies are facing shortage of parts due to Thailand flood.

Really to each his own lah. No need to use strong words like "No way I will buy" etc. Was using a D90 and LX3 and now V is a good inbetween for me. Been using it for the last few weeks and happy with it.

Someone said has bugs etc but I think it is more "user problems" than the camera itself! :)

(Nikon reporting that the manufacturing for the V1 and J1 is unable to keep up with worldwide demand.) ???

But now Hong Kong is offering!

Where is your source?

Just a short comment after trying out the J1 for few days.

I am utterly SURPRISED by the image quality!!!

It is similar to G3 up till iso3200 and beats GF3, EP3 at all iso. And the lenses are tack sharp wide opened!

This should somehow stops all the rant against its smallish sensor.

Will post a more detailed review soon.
