Pardon my ignorance as I'm new to this thread. Can you PM me the contact as I can't find it. The only studiospace I find via forum and Google search don't appear to match!

not advertising for studiospace but they have a better offer. 695 for full v1, 10-30, 30-110 and flash w bag. Most of us got this offer last year.

Do note that most of the items sold by studiospace are grey units. It has been quite a while now since the V1 has been discontinued not sure if you can still find such deals. Back then I got my local set V1 + 10-30 + 10/2.8 + flash + freebies for 678.

Thank you for the follow up and advice.

I was checking to see if there's a cheaper local source compared to the online sets available overseas.

is Nikon going to "kill the 1 series"?
at this point there are only speculations and interpretations on what Nikon means by "Reconsider product planning of Nikon 1".

These opinions from Steve Huff and Thom Hogan are worth reading, if you have invested in the 1 series. Nevertheless, let's just enjoy making pictures from our cam. Cheers.

i have a V1 with 10mm & 10-30mm. Currently considering which Lens to get.

The 32 mm lens would be a portrait lens with ability to isolate the subject, while the 6,7-13 mm is an ultra wide zoom. If you like to take people picture then 32mm, landscape, city scape and environmental portraiture then 6.7-13mm. The thing the 32mm brings to the table is the ability to provide soft out of focus to portraits, otherwise not different from the kit lens in perspective, perhaps a bit sharper? The 6,7-13mm brings the wider vista, sweeping perspective to you. Suggest you look up how the pictures would look on the Internet and decide. I would get both if I were in your situation, but wide first if for vacation.

Hmmm.. for typical vacation shots (landscape, environment/street shots etc) 6.7~13 is likely to be more useful. But the 10-30 is also quite sufficient for vacation, although you may miss some shots where it is not wide enough...

6.7~13 goes for about almost $500 before GST and is available. (Not sure if the white version is available, it was out of stock about a month ago)

It really depends on what you like to shoot more. If you take a lot of portraits in your travels the 32mm may be the one for you.

Personally I thought the 6.7-13mm is a fantastic lens. Got rid of my 10-30 as soon as I got the UWA.

thanks for all the advice. will consider and choose my poison :)

Hi Guys, anyone using V1 with manual lens? ( eg. russian lens, CCTV lens...) Hows is the handling of V1 when using manual lens? Am considering getting a V1 due to it low price now. TAI

Yes but Nikon Singapore doesn't stock it and they aren't planning to. Question is if it helps. With some lenses it doesn't help much and I don't know anybody who uses the 10-30mm with a hood.

I bought mine (china replica) on ebay.

I bought my V1 with the 10mm prime and 10-30mm kit.

The 50mm f1.8 AF-D which don't AF on the FT-1 works really well with the help from the AF confirmation dot. AE works.
This applies for the various Samyang/Rokinon mf lens with the AE chip. I have tried the 8mm samyang, look big and clumsy, also lost most of the fisheye effect.
I wonder there is a easy way to defish to turn this into a wider angle normal lens (21.6mm). By f8 practically everything 50cm or further is in focus.

The really old school MF lens from the film days like Tokina 28mm f2.8 (75.6mm) or Tokina SZ-X 282 MF 28-200mm (up to 540mm effective) can also be used on the FT-1. No focus assistance but can still zoom in to check. Will balance on the FT-1 but I am not sure it can last with such a heavy (700g) lens.

I am using the V1/FT1 combo with AFS 300mm f/4D. The trick, to my mind, is to balance on the lens not the body. Will soon be using it with the 70-200mm f/4G VR as well and not expecting any problem.
