will there be a new FF???

Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I've read, the A77/A7xx will have an even better sensor than the A55 that goes up to 18mp, there's mention that Sony is adopting SLT technologies for their semi-pro(A77) and Pro(FF) systems. ...heard that they've promised a new EVF that will blow users away ! :bsmilie:

Anyway, isn't that just typical of Minolta - I mean Sony ...last one to come out with product but darn ! ...it's the best (LiveView, AF Video, etc)

i saw on the alpha rumors site that they're gonna squeeze a 24mp sensor into the A7x/7xx! but i'm sure that apart from DSLT, a DSLR will be released as well.. prefer OVF to EVF haha.

the new FF will be 30+mp and maybe still OVF.. imagine... if like the fuji X1000...hybrid OVF/EVF...

rumor is always rumor
The fact are:
1. Yes, Sony developing new FF
2. Successor of A900 will be "better" than A900
3. In case they not make it "better" than the competitors, Sony will make it more affordable

I was following the A33/A55 SLTs rumours(SR4-SR5) from start to final product release and it was accurate all the way, sometimes such rumours are purposely spread by manufacturers to gather market feedback.

On your points above:
1. Sony A900 and A850 are FF DSLR, looks like they are going to implement alot of new technologies into the FF replacement.
2. Of couse the new camera must be better than the old one lah ! ...I've never heard of a new DSLR being worse than the older model (except maybe the 60d :bsmilie:)
3. All of Sony's models are more affordable then their competitors unless you compare them with Pentax ;) ...irregardless if they're better or worse.

just to check can tammy 17-50 use on A850 on APSC mode?

more looking forward to A700 too. but i hope it wun come with slt, or at least have another version without slt.

Yes but framing will be a challenge as there is no APS-C frame marking in the VF.

I have used both the Sony A850 and the Canon 5D MkII for several weeks - approx 4 weeks each. If you do any video work then get the Canon - no brainer.

The Sony has a wonderful viewfinder - it's huge - it has all the right camera buttons and dials you could ever want. As a dslr camera it's better than the canon. Sony hasn't updated the firmware since launch - I wonder why and I wonder when they will do so. Sony's noise is actually color noise and can be easily compensated for in LR3. The sony has a noisy shutter release. The Nikon D700 has a really nice shutter release. The Canon's is somewhere in between.

The Ideal camera would be a Sony body, Nikon's implementation of the Sony sensor and Canon's video capability with a universal mount. Will that happen - never!

All 3 camera's are very capable imaging devices. Pice one that suits your budget and shoot.

hi all, any idea when are they going to launch new FF camera? to me the A900 or A850 iso is quite crap... so hoping they will have something like Canon 5Dm2. I've been waiting for a 3rd FF.. currently still using the A700.

Hi I am a 5D MkII user and just bought A850...... Found both to be equally good!

dont get it cause thinking of upgrade nw i only have a sony 50mmF1.4 prime lense the rest is 17-50tammy and 18-250sony
