Yes it will work, but you still have to adjust your pict style settings to get ideal contrast, saturation, tones, etc.
EF-S lenses are designed for 1.6x crop factor sensors and have taken into account the range available after multiplying by 1.6.
For example:
EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 on a 1.6x would suit the same range for the EF 16-35mm on a full frame dslr. If you were looking at the true 16-35mm range then you would get EF-S 10-22mm, but if you were to upgrade to full frame in future you will have to sell your EF-S lens.
