What region code does the Wii have here? Is it the same than the North American one?
Does someone know if they are still selling the model with the GameCube ports here? :angel:

I think we should be region 3 for APAC/Asia? not 100% sure though

That's for DVD, isn't it? Blu-Ray is A like the US and I think Wii has it's own region scheme.

Wii consoles & games are region locked so if you buy a PAL Wii, then you are restricted to playing PAL games, European & Australian games also work on a UK PAL system as they are also PAL territories(the same can be said the other way around, ie. Eurpean & Australian Wii consoles will play UK PAL games).
Conversely, JAP (NTSC) and US (NTSC) games won't play on an EU console and EU (PAL) games won't work on a JAP or US console.

or you could try to have freeloader so you could play any region games been awhile since I have my WII pass it down to my cousin and now using xbox 360 kinect

not sure if the one selling in SG are UK PAL or NTSC JAP

I know, that's why I am asking about the region. To what Wii and GameCube regions are the Wii consoles locked Nintendo is selling here? Both region schemes might not even be the same.
Yeah, most of the time I am using my PS3 consoles and the 360 now.

sorry bro bought my WII at HK comes with freeloader so I can play any wii games regarless of codes hehehe... never check local market coz it's more exp here than in HK ... you're old school bro still hunting for Gamwcube ports.

I like Family Computer by Nintendo if I'll go back Tokyo I'll get one for sure and game n watch lolz

OK, the local Wii region code is definitely the same than the US one. The Wii coding has nothing to do with the DVD regions. Anyway, I just bought a new local set that's still GC compatible for S$200.
