M4, a globular cluster beside Antares (Alpha Scorpii).

M7-2.jpg

M7, open cluster at the tail of Scorpius, as denoted by constellation lines. Only managed 3 subs before the clouds came in. Image is too noisy, will try again if time permits.
3 subs at ISO 400, 2 min exposure. Canon 400D, 70-200F4L at 70mm, F4.

nice shot of antares. Maybe you can try taking pictures of orion's belt too, it's really prominent and looks good in photos.

Won't be able to see Orion at the moment. Have to wait til August, and Orion will onli appear around 4am onwards. Waa,,,still sleeping le.

wow, nice shot. wouldn't a wide angle be better ? or at least something with a larger aperture?

Orion is a winter constellation. Think you can see it now, but it rises just before dawn, therefore impossible to shoot.

Anyways i've been gearing up for wide angle photography. Thinking of starting a project to collect all 12 zodiac constellations, plus maybe Ophiuchus. Anyone keen to join in? Imaging sessions typically begin at 11pm and end at 5am. :bsmilie::bsmilie:
