I think the 24mm f/2.8 is considered new. But you should be able to find a hood..

I am using 28mm f/1.8 as main prime for my crop body. Not the sharpest, but well.. it does the job :)

I cannot find. Original and/or 3rd party EW-65B lens hood not available anywhere. :/

I've been to Artworkfoto, John316, Reddotphoto, Technogadgets (online) etc all don't even carry the 3rd party hood. Checked with canon showroom, also to no avail. Sigh...

My main purpose is to use it with my 100D, travel extremely light when going on short overseas trips! (:

Need good opinions as to which prime to get... Currently, I'm stucked between these Canon lenses:
1. 28mm f/1.8 USM (apparently some say it's discontinued, but some shops still have it)

2. 28mm f/2.8 USM IS

3. 24mm f/2.8 USM IS

4. 35mm f2 (not sure if there's USM and/or IS)

I know there's the 35mm f2, without IS & USM, but if there's the one with IS and/or USM, then it will be under the list.

What I'm looking for is image-price quality. I know the prices (except the 28mm f/1.8) are pretty comparable, so what are your thoughts?

Thanks!

If you are looking for image quality, consider the manual focus only Carl Zeiss 35mm f/2 ZE Distagon T*

Not sure if I am out of line. Why not consider the new Sigma 35mm f1.4? It is sharp wide open. Fantastic lens.

Thanks Andrew, I ended up buying it from eBay too! However, not sure if I should regret or, cos the shipping probably takes up to a month/two. Hahaha! Ohwell... I'll wait..

Yes, it can take quite a while. Anyway happy shooting!
