Why so many people selling D700?

Just a question...

Why so many selling D700 in the forum? hmm... Any idea?

I think the most obvious advantage of using a D700 is the low noise capability. If the user doesn't shoot events or what not, then they might just find the D700 a little too boring, as compared to 5D Mk II, which has video and all those things.

Cause....

1. they dont need a dslr anymore
2. they dont like the d700
3. they wanna upgrade to D3x/D3s
4. they think replacement is coming (rumors since LAST YEAR)
5. they downgrading to DX format, cause FF lenses are expensive
6. they find it too heavy
7. they want a DSLR that takes video
8. they want more megapixels
9. they can't take good pics with it, so must get other cameras
10. they prefer to use "L" lenses cause they have a red rubberband
11. they think micro 4/3 is the 'in' thing
12. they think everyone is selling, so something must be wrong, so they should sell too
13. they find p&s have more vibrant colors striaght out of camera
14. 51 AFpoints are too much for them
15. they want something with 100% viewfinder

and the list goes on and on.

well, i'm using a d700 too, and loving it =p.

17. They just follow what other people use. What's the best for other people is not the same with what the best for yourself.

Anyone can find another reason ?

Well! I am using D700 with 14-24mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm and Sigma 150-500mm for birding..

hehe I actually prefer the current location as I got direct bus and it's a much easier location to access than Shriro House, which needs some 10-15min walking distance from the mrt keke

Nikon got kopi also.....and can fondle all the nice lenses while waiting.....but i guess people heard that nikon D700 got less noise, so they bought, but after buying, they hear noises that new better upgrade coming.....

coz IPhone 4 is coming out soon....selling to fund purchase :bsmilie: aside from the upgrade itch there are lots of reason including personal (wife already jealous since owner no time to cuddle her ) or maybe financial.

Ï think there are lots of reasons to why ppl gave up on their D700 but for me.. I'm coming from a fujiFlim S2/S3pro camera point of view, there is an itch to upgrade but that itch is still not strong enough compared to getting better lenes for my shooting needs like getting a f2.8 lens for 17-55mm or a nikor 80-400mm for shooting birds or other wildife, maybe airplanes as well but maybe I'll try a D3s one of these days to inspire myself to upgrade

There is expected replacement on the d700 soon. Moreover there is a sudden dropped in price for its unit just like the D90 and D5000. Believe that they are trying to clear the global stock before allowing the new series to be launched. Remember photokina is around the corner so its time. ;p

Cos Nikon have sold many more Nikon D700 than other models. So naturally when about the same percentage of all nikon dslr owners sell, it will appear many D700 is being sold. Ha ha.

Just kidding.

I sell it because of upgrade. Others sell it for many other reasons. Don't think this type of question will lead to any useful answers or conclusion.
