crap, why would i want a hot-shoe for Lx3... i might as well lug my dSLR along...
Get a DSLR... You are definitely not looking for a compact Pns camera...

*WHY IS THERE SO MANY PPLE COMPARING a compact PnS camera to a DSLR?
Don't they know the difference between these 2 types of cameras...

to each his own.. can your dslr sync flash at 1/2000sec??? ;p
can your dslr be that light and compact for the same amount of speed (lens)?

Weixiang's cam/speedlight combo can do HSF but presuming anyone flash syncs at 1/2000s.. it will be virtually useless. The coverage of the flash will be too short, then again if there is a need to shoot at 1/2000s the object must be moving extremely fast or it's at high noon.

basically the people who bought their LX 3 had no clue wad 24-60mm meant...
and found out shortly after its not enough... the LX 3 wasnt meant for the pns mass markets, i believe, but for those who wanted a wide angle compact. for me its the perfect landscape scouting compact, day or night, in the market.

i would trade my 450D for an LX3. HEHE. Just for the flash sync. Anyone interested can pm me. :p

yea, the 1/2000th sync speed is something not all dSLR can do.. but can't really achieve 1/2000th with my cheap radio trigger, its 1/1000th at most..

The link provided is on the 5D. I'd get a an LX3 to trade with your 5D if you are interested. :bsmilie:

It has come to my observation, that many people are letting go their LX-3 after owning it for a short duration. Most common reason is upgrading to DSLR, this also includes my colleague at work, whom in the end bought an IXUS 870is?? My colleague tells me, the LX3 is not so pocketable and the zoom is not enough. So owners and ex-owners of this cam, share your experinences here.I've personally tried it and its very good, typical of panasonics good built and design of late.

How about counting the large number of buyers of LX3 and keeping it? ;)

lol. i have both, i use my 5D not the 450D, it's rotting in the dry cabi.

you mean your colleague did not know that LX3 is not so pocketable and the zoom is not enough before he bought it...?

people have this kinda of buying mentality..no wonder there are so many 2nd hand LX3 to let go...

there are always going to have people who buy and sell fast. Don't bother about it.
As long as you like it, that's fine.
I used the Lx3 for mostly macro and wide angle shots and when I need something lighter at night.
During the day I will just lug my d200 ard with lenses. After a day you will feel tired and you just want something lighter and still take decent pictures.
I can't say that I really enjoy the low light shoots, but hey, you need to understand what you give up in order to have.
I think Lx3 shoots are fantastic and it's preview display is good. Some people might sell it cos it doesn't fulfill their needs.
Just ask yourself, why do you want a lx3? if you can answer that, then maybe you know clearly what you need and want. Most of the time, what you want might not be what you need. :)

Cool! Thanks for the link. I will try the effect out on my cam. I've not tried how high the shutter can go with my cam, just attached my Speedlite and realized it's 1/4000s.

im not talking about just speedlights alone

I wish i can afford one now...when using my P&S i usually shoot at the widest angle and biggest apperture..so no need zooom..

there are people who buy without knowing the strengths of the cam, and whether those features address his needs ...
