M6 is fully mechanical I guess? Mechanical stuff is very collectable.

but the flare on the M6 is.................... Please do stick tape on your projection window, later end up like ZoomP :bsmilie:

My hexar also no one using, not mechanical :embrass:

I have my R6 in 1986 and I sold my m4 away to fund my R6. When I look through the view finder, is just different from my other camera, like see through crystal,.
I just like to take the camera out and click click, hold in my palm, very nice feeling.
That is Leica:)

I bought both for their mechanical excellence. Don't be fooled by the seiko, they are just as accurate if not better than their swiss counterparts. Just not COSC certified, they make all the parts down to the lubricating grease.

Nice MM

COSC doesnt mean that the watch is any more accurate :)

Anyway, Thung Sia has the new MM on display...list at $9.5k+...not sure...but that kind of price I suspect is Spring Drive

Personally I think mounting any suitable Leica LTM lens on one of my fine-tuned Soviet rangefinder camera already make me feeling like I am with the Leica legacy.

Considering it is the Leica lens that make the image quality of the film it captured, the whole setup costs a fraction of the price and the image quality is still the same. Moreover this setup make everything so special (or weird, if whatever you think) :bsmilie:

It’s a social yardstick, we termed upgrade alongside price. Can’t really fight this anymore. But seriously, i am a sucker for leica camera.

how wld the leica fans here rate the x1 in terms of iq and in the context of leica cameras tradition?

Thumbs up to Grand Seiko!

Hmmmm.... Just another compact on the market......

Far from Leica mechanical cameras tradition

Light, compact, good IQ but v v slow AF (faster than M9 tho :bsmilie: )

good sharp and details IQ you can depend on a compact... auto focus hunting can be frustrating but i preferred the shots out of X1 as compared to the M4/3 GF1 i still have..
btw lately found myself slipping it in my travel bag these days more than the M9 :)

why leica?

because leica glows

do you need any more reason? :)

trying very hard to resist the x1...
great for travelling and with superb iq.
anyone can tell me the best price to get in sin?

Haha... yes, the window can come off when u try to remove the tape.

Another clever option is the Zeiss Ikon... much more affordable and oozes quality too!

Afterall Oskar Barnack was "poached" from Zeiss??? :)

Not really, unless you are referring to the Grand Seikos.

Hi Stephen, to me the SBDX001 marinemaster is as good as Grand seikos, it has the same movement and made in the same watch factory Shizukuishi watch studio. It is just not adjusted to 6 positions. I find it beats the submariner hands down in terms of technology and finish except for rolex patented triplock winding crown. IMHO :)
