Why is crumpler bag so popular?

if you notice there is an inner layer which folds inwards when you close the cover, that's the '2nd defence' against water. during dry weather the compartments can be used to hold small items as well. i'm loving the amount of space that bag gives me!

ya I noticed the flap but the flap must fold properly else it will actually CHANNEL the rain into your camera compartment

Even if you fold properly, the rain looks like will get trapped between the inner layer and the outer layer....... which doesn't look too good either.

Bottomline is has anyone tested the bag in rain b4. I am worried cuz I have gotten caught in rain many times on my travel and when you use an umbrella with a sling bag, the sling bag ALWAYS get drenched..... my old bags like fujifilm bag, billingham bag, the flip cover actually cover OVER the edges and there is no gap so all the water will flow away.

Else Maybe one of these days when it is raining I go out and test test

PS: ya the space is really quite big. same size as my fujifilm bag but can squees one more lens :)

 have carried it in light rain before without problems. actually i noticed that material crumpler uses for bags are waterproofed on the inner surface, water kind of get absorbed into the material, so there won't be a situation where water flow on top of the material surface. the bag will get wet on the outside but the inside remains dry, that's what i experience most of the time when caught in rain.

if you feel insecure to bring it out when the real storm comes, can always test it out in the shower ;)

Got once my 7 mil dollar home got splashed by water and the outside became wet with obvious water spots, but it soon dried out.

i can vouch for this, kena the same thing before. was running to get under a shop's canvas shelter in the rain and some water splashed onto my bag!

The material on Crumpler products seems to fend off water quite well. Perhaps it's becos of the materials used.

Hi, should I get the 7 million or the 6 million bag?

Currently, I have 80-200, 55 f2.8 and 20-35 f2.8 attached to d100, sb80dx.

Thanks

personally i like crumpler because its water resistant, i dip my backpack into water, inside is clean! dirt resistant becos can wash.
pretty good bag. like it but expensive la

Get a 7 million bag. Cos it is more value for money as compared to 6 million bag. Thanks :)
