Frankly, I don't bother with pixel peeping... the two lens look equally sharp and in fact (and perhaps due to inconsistency in testing), some shots look sharper on the prime and some sharper on the G... unless u are going to blow up the shot to A3+ size or even larger, then I guess it does not make much difference... u really need to put to very well taken identical shots together with lots of very fine details before u can really see a significant difference I feel... a macro would make a lot of difference but landscape shots tend not to show up much difference I feel...
