I was thinking why this year's fireworks was so long and grand at the Esplanade.

Then I remembered last year, there wasn't any fireworks there as it was still the Tsunami period...

So I guess they saved all the money and fireworks and combine with this year's budget...

Think next year won't have such a long and grand one liao...

how you define good?

things need to improve isn't it. will it be good if every year is the same old thing?

As you mentioned there wasn't any fireworks due to moaning period for Tsunami, those fireworks were "re-used" during the lunar new year.

Year 2006 will be a great year, starting off with a big Bang.

Remember it is also election year - with all the signs written up on the wall. Goodies here for Aljunied GRC and Riverside goodies there for Jln Besar GRC.... etc..... and many more to come, and each and every GRC must have some goodies when the entire thing is ready, including the big fat White Elephant.... and COE prices are at a all time LOW.

LG - Live's Good!!!

With ERP, the government can now afford anything it wants ;p

Huh? This year's fireworks good? You should have seen stuff like Sydney's. No, just even HK Disney's.....

And when you actually get to play with them, it gets even better. Like any town in MY like Ipoh.... or in Indonesia. Pretty dangerous though, but the feeling is totally out of this world. Very expensive though.... $200 won't get you a lot. Those mamas burst right on top of you maciam like a small grenade and you get rained by the debris. Woot!

For HK Disneyland, u need to get a good view of the castle to "reel in" a good experience, with the projections on the castle itself and tying in with the music.

Well, definitely like to have some fireworks to play with. :)

Yea man, it gets really expensive too. Because it starts at ard 8pm so you probably would have no bus to go out.....unless you are in a tour (read expensive). Either that or you stay in the hotel in Disneyland, which again is expensive. But it's friggin worth it.....for all the trouble and $$$ spent for the tickets and stuff. Problem is that after that you'd rather stay at home and sleep than to spend the time and effort to watch the SG ones. I was driving last year to the SFFs and holy smokes lousy show + like half a million people never see fireworks before in their whole life....not to metion the massive jams on ECP, PIE and CTE.

HK CNY fireworks also really good.

Only gd thing is that i live in Chinatown, so i can watch the People's Park low level ones from the comfort of my home. :D

Fyi, on weekdays (Mon to Thr or to Fri if I remember right), the fireworks starts at 7pm. I was in HK in early Dec 05. Guess for that, one can try the MTR ... but everyone else would be like going off on the MTR too. :what: Something to think about if going free and easy. :bsmilie:

Maybe going down to chinatown to watch the fireworks. Heard it's going to run for many days. Then, need to think how to run round in the crowd again. See how then.

Cheers!

SG Fireworks is getting old they have it like even 3-4mths and several days at 1 go.......even big countries dun have it like that. They have 2-3 good major fireworks in a season and that is it.

The fireworks last year at the Esplanade was on schedule.

I remembered becourse I back out of a dinner arrangement with my friends, who booked a table at 1, esplanade for makan and stayed on for drinks and fireworks display. My friends went ahead.

I didn't have the mood for such enjoyment. Instead, I joined another friend and we spent that New Year Eve packing for the tsunamis victims. Even went all the way to Jurong shipyard to help loadup the container and had an amazing experience.

Gaberment so rich but still save on fireworks....they rather put the $$$$$ somewhere else.

Esplanade fireworks is so so lar....Tokyo Disneyland Firewors is about 10 times better than this and each season (Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring) have different themes.

One reason is the space is somehow i feel too open. I guess the gaberment are afraid some buildings might get burn, so that is one reason why the fireworks is always there. To me, fireworks works best and look good on photo when there are surrounding things.

Take for example the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a good example or the Hong Kong buildings which light up fireworks too. See the diff?
